The structure of the text
A secular ketubah is written freely by the couple, often with an officiant's help. It sets out the promises that matter to them, honestly and personally. Because there is no fixed text, the art often takes center stage, and modern and minimalist designs are popular.

We promise to be honest and loving partners; to build a home of warmth, curiosity and respect; to care for one another in hard times and celebrate in good ones; and to keep choosing each other, every day.
