Frame your ketubah the right way
A ketubah is a piece of art you will live with for decades, so framing it well matters. This guide takes your ketubah's dimensions and recommends a mat width, an outer frame size, and a hanging height, with a simple visual preview so you can picture the proportions before you order.
As a rule of thumb, a mat of two to four inches gives a ketubah room to breathe and keeps the glass off the artwork, which protects hand-painted and papercut pieces in particular. Larger ketubahs can carry a wider mat; small prints look best with a slightly narrower one. Always ask your framer for UV-protective, museum-grade glazing and acid-free matting, especially for originals, since sunlight and cheap materials are the two things most likely to fade a ketubah over time.
For hanging, the standard is to center the piece at about 57 inches from the floor, the same height galleries use, so it sits comfortably at eye level. If you plan to display your ketubah at the wedding itself, decide in advance whether you will frame it before or after the signing; many couples use an easel and a temporary mat on the day, then frame the signed original afterward.
